Psalm 90:10 , states: “The years of our life are seventy, or even by reason of strength eighty“.

It’s important to understand this as a reflection …
Lord, if You are giving me ten more years, I want to spend them well. At 69, I feel both grateful and humbled. You have carried me this far through victories, trials, and lessons I never thought I could survive. But I know my time is shorter now, and I want these last years to matter — to You, to my family, and even to myself.
#1: First, I must pause and look at my life honestly. I will take care of my health — this body You have given me — so I can serve You and love my family well. I will play golf to walk more, eat better, and keep myself strong. These coming years are not just for sitting down and waiting; they are for living.
#2: I will also reconnect — with family, classmates (mistahs), friends, former officemates and even with those I may have hurt or forgotten. There are words I still need to say, stories I still need to tell, and forgiveness I still need to give and receive. I do not want to leave this world with heavy baggage in my heart.
#3: And Lord, I still want to see more of Your creation. If You allow me, I want to travel — maybe near, maybe far — and marvel at the beauty You made. I want to try new things, taste new food, laugh at new experiences. Let me live with a spirit of adventure, even in my old age.
#4: Most of all, I want to love more deeply. I want to spend time with my children and grandchildren, look them in the eye, and let them know how proud I am. I want to share my wisdom, my mistakes, my faith — so they know where they came from and what really matters in this life.
#5: In these ten years, I also want to give back. You have blessed me with much, Lord, and I do not want to keep it all for myself. Show me who I can help, who I can mentor, who I can lift up. Let me leave this world a little better than I found it.
#6: I will simplify my life, too — clear the clutter in my home, prepare my affairs, and make it easier for those I will one day leave behind. But more importantly, I will clear the clutter in my heart: anger, regrets, worries. I want to meet You with peace in my soul.
#7: And when that final year comes, Lord, let me celebrate. Let me gather my loved ones, share a meal, laugh about our memories, and thank You for every single day You have given me.
#8: When the last day comes, I want to be ready. Not afraid. Not bitter. Just thankful. Let my last breath be a prayer of praise for a life You have guided from beginning to end.
#9: These ten years are Yours, Lord.
#10: Help me spend them well
